March 26, Kathmandu.
The government of Nepal has started preparations to keep Thamel and Durbar Marg in Kathmandu open 24/7. The preparation follows instructions from Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane to keep the popular business and tourist centres in the capital open day and night.
On Monday, the District Administration Office, Kathmandu, held preparatory discussions with the concerned authorities and business representatives. While the business community has welcomed the government’s decision, the district administration is bringing forth a security plan to make the implementation smooth.
Uniformity in prices of goods and services during the day and the night is a top priority of the new plan. The district administration has also asserted that post-implementation developments will help formulate a long-term integrated plan.
